Glossier Skincare Review

There are 4 goals I have for this winter concerning my skin: 

1. Stay moisturized (this is a given obvi)
2. Stay smooth (no crust allowed)
3. Keep the skin around my eyes moisturized and plumped

I also want to keep my hands moisturized, but that’s for another post.

I feel like I haven’t actually written about my experience/a review of Glossier skincare— I mention it a lot, and I write about the makeup frequently, but I don’t get into WHY I love their skincare products.

 The last time I was at the NYC Flagship, I bought some new products and old favorites. I love Glossier’s products because they make it...simple. New ideas and great ingredients in a cutesy-pink packaging while explaining the products in a way anyone can understand. 

*I would click each link and read Glossier’s descriptions of the products in a fuller depth because it’s rad— also, I don’t know how much I can quote before getting sued lmfao*

Milky Jelly Cleanser: Iconic. One of my favorite products from Glossier. The ultimate gentle cleanser, soft enough for morning cleansing, powerful enough to take off makeup. The perfect jelly consistency, and my go-to first cleansing step ( it's good enough of a cleanser on it’s own, but I usually like to follow up with a second cleanser). Find it here.

Glossier Solution: A chemical exfoliant gentle enough for everyday use. It uses a 10% mix of AHA, BHA, and PHA acids to well, chemically exfoliate the skin. Gets rid of breakouts, redness, and shrinks pores.  I LOVE this stuff. I’ve noticed my pores getting smaller with use, I’m not nearly as red as usual, and my skin is silky smooth, all the time. I can find myself in that phase of “I haven’t exfoliated in a week” and my skin starts to feel crusty and gross— but when you’re exfoliating on a daily basis, it won’t come to that. I use it at night before toner, and I would recommend to only use it once a day. If you use it in the morning...wear your spf or I will literally come for you. Priming Moisturizer: A lightweight moisturizer perfect under makeup. I use it every morning before spf and it’s amazing to use on makeup days— apply it as a moisturizer, and apply another thin layer before face makeup— quenching dry spots while never being greasy. Find it here. 

Bubblewrap: A smoothing, plumping, and hydrating multi-product for eyes and lips, it’s perfect as both an eye cream and a subtle lip-plumping-primer of sorts. Packs a punch of moisture without being heavy, it’s great for day or night. Also: the packaging! This ones more functional though. I really dislike when eye creams are in jar/pots, because A. Bacteria B. Air/sunlight lowering the potency of anti-oxidants and ingredients in the product — no worry! Bubblewrap is an airtight, pump thats super lightweight. Find it here. 

Futuredew: GAME. CHANGER. The oil-serum hybrid is a new formula in general, not just from Glossier. I mean, it recieved an Elle 2019 Future of Beauty Award so the future is not just here, it’s DEWY!!! Essentially, it’s a face oil/ serum thats… long wearing skincare. You heard that right. Gives you that fresh-out-of-a-facial or “I just finished my skincare routiene seconds ago” glow— and they’re not foolin’ around. My cheekbones have the perfect Krispy-Kreme glow, even after a day of school. It looks really great under makeup too, but I would wait 5-10 minutes to let it really soak into the skin first. Beyond the cute packaging, these are some really great prodcucts that make your skin feel and look better— hard to ask for much more than the ever-desired Glossier Glow.
