Fenty Gloss & Nars Blush Review
Fenty Gloss & Nars Blush Review
There isn’t much in this world that I love more than a pinky-gold shimmer look. While I’ve been in a huge apricot color mood this year, the ever-iconic Nars Orgasm color scheme is iconic, like pearls or Chanel. Nars Orgasm was the first blush I ever used and liked— realizing how blush can change the whole look is a game changer. The ultamite natural, glowy flush that makes you look like you just…. “went for a run” (lol). The only problem was when I fell in love with the liquid/cream blush: I had to leave my beloved rose-gold blush behind. I had found out early this yearr (time flies!) that Nars makes Orgasm in powder, cream stick, and liquid blush form! (and a lip-gloss AND lip oil, if anyone is interested) I struggled with what form to get— I do like a stick, but liquid is the easiest for me to apply… but the liquid has a glass bottle, which is always a liability… I literally slept on the matter— that’s how you know it’s serious. I went into Sephora on a steamy August day with my decison. After picking the liquid formula, I had one last look ‘round to see if there was anything else I wanted. If you go to Sephora and only get one thing, did you even go to Sephora? While drooling over the Fenty Beauty kiosk, I realized that my soon-to-be blush and the newly-iconic Gloss Bomb would be THE coordinating lewk. I had to get them both now… my makeup addiction was happy, my checking account was not… but life is too short not to buy ALL the lip-glosses, is it not? Let’s get to the review.
Nars Liquid Blush in Orgasm: Magic in a bottle. I think it’s actually impossible to over-apply. Still the same in color, but I do find there is slightly more sheen due to the liquid formula. Leaves the skin looking so natural with just a hint of flush. Blush perfection. I have one complaint— the packaging. A square glass bottle with a twist off pump… be CAREFUL y’all!!! I had a traumatic spillage in New York that had about a third of the product coating in the interior of my makeup bag and Every. Single. Product *scream*. But, what can you do? I wouldn’t recomend for travel unless you’re very, very careful.
Fenty Gloss Bomb in Fenty Glow: Y’all know I’m loyal to Glossier gloss, but this is a serious contender...if only Ms. Robyn came out with a clear gloss… but I digress. This is a GREAT gloss. The packaging is really unique— a chrome-esque top and a hexagonal shape— perfect for a blind grab into a bag. The applicator is the thiccest, largest doe foot I’ve ever seen (think Tarte Shape Tape for reference) and covers the lip in one swipe. Called a “shimmering rose nude” it looks great on essentially everyone. It’s not quite opaque, but it does have quite a bit of pigment. It has shimmer but no grit at all, and is slightly sticky, leaving the lips moisturized after removal. Leaves your lips shiny, lucious, and the in the perfect place between pink and nude. But my favorite part, the SCENT!!! I don’t even know how to describe it, but I literally just open it up and smell it, even on days that I don’t use it. So good. Find it here.
These products leave you shimmering and light-reflective, in the best sense of the phrase. Great for beginners in liquid blush or gloss, or those looking for a natural look with an extra va-va-voom.
