Why Cream/Liquid Blushes are the move for Summer-- and the rest of the year

Why Cream/Liquid Blushes are the move for Summer-- and the rest of the year

Until I tried them, cream and liquid blushes always seemed daunting— how much should I apply?? Is it easy to end up looking like a clown??? Which formula is best???? HELP?!?!?!?!?!
So naturally, I stuck with the good-ole-reliable powder blush.

But I was dumbfounded when upon actually trying these products, I actually really liked them. They were easier to blend out to subtly, and gave more of an “Oh! You just happened to catch me looking like Emily Ratajkowski fresh off a run” look than a powder blush could ever provide. (I’m just assuming Emily Ratajkowski looks good after a run— do you blame me?)
Not to mention… no brushes! The lazy gal’s ultimate dream… look non-dead WITHOUT ever having to clean a brush! Use them fingies, ladies and gents! Now, enough of me blabbering. I’ll give you what you came for— a list with links.

Glossier Cloud Paints: For the artsy gal. Comes in 6 shades— I have Dusk, Beam, and Puff. Really great formula— a little goes a long way (also take that as a warning if you must). And oh, THAT PACKAGING!! Deceased. Link here
ALSO, here’s a link for 10% ur first glossier purchase. Ur welcome :)

Aritaum Sugarball Cushion Blusher: For the gal searching for a youthful look. Comes in 5 shades— I have No. 3 (Daisy Coral). It appears that they have updated the packaging since they bought mine, so don’t be alarmed. Smoother than butter, applies like a dream. Kbeauty sure knows how to do a blush. Link here

Benefit Gogo Tint: for the fun gals. A shade variant of the ever-iconic Benetint, this cherry liquid tint is great on the cheeks, lips, and eyes. (I’m wearing it in my current Instagram profile pic— go check it out!) Also, just mentioning that I have the mini size… so Benefit isn’t cheap, I just am. Link here

Wet n Wild Megaglo Blush Stick: for the gals on the hunt for a deal. Comes in 3 shades— I have 803, Floral Majority. One of my favorites— and at an unbeatable price. A really beautiful blush, not exactly matte but doesn’t have any shimmer like the rest of the shades in the collection. I would recommend warming it up on the fingers (or fingies lol) before applying to the cheeks, rather than just applying it straight from the stick. Link here

Rituel De Fille Inner Glow Crème Pigment: For the witchy gals— or Stevie Nicks fan. Whatever floats your boat. Before I go into the blush, I’m gonna go on a tangent about the company itself, because I’m obsessed. Started by three mua sisters inspired by “the magical side of natural ingredients, and the ritualistic, ceremonial power of pigment,” according to their website. Too freakin’ cool— am I right? Out of 9 shades— I have Delirium— an INCREDIBLE peachy-apricot with a beautiful golden shimmer. It’s no joke— you don’t even need highlighter after this. Goes beautifully on the eyes, cheeks, and lips. I would recommend a gloss on top if you apply on the lips because it’s a wee bit dry there. But don’t be alarmed— looks as luminous as could be on the face itself. Link here

I know that a lot of people have concerns about liquid/cream blushes. From the ones mentioned above, to how they handle in the heat and on oily skin. But here’s my summer (and the rest of the year) makeup philosophy: If it’s subtle enough, it CAN’T melt off! Try wiping off Cloud paint when it’s set— I dare you. Try it— you might like it! And with even more affordable brands getting into the liquid/cream blush game, you have no excuse! Join me in my quest for the perfect flush...won’t you?
