Pixi Glow Tonic Toner Review
Pixi Glow Tonic Toner Review
As I walked through Anthropologie, bored as hell, I thought about my dilemma. I had about $15 to my name, and I had just run out of my favorite toner, Son and Park’s beauty water ($30)— what would I do?? How would my skin possibly be gently exfoliated daily while being prepared for serums and moisturizers???? (the ultimate first world problem— I can feel Bernie Sanders materializing behind me as I type this)
I checked out the clearance beauty shelves, not expecting much. At boutique-like stores, I find that a lot of the skincare products are the kind that the packaging is so cute that it can trick people into buying it if they don’t look at the ingredients too hard. I saw some Pixi products and noticed that their Glow Toner was on sale for $11. (normally $15 for 3.4 oz) I felt that it was a sign— I had seen this product a lot on Youtube— and it didn’t seem to be a joke. Check out HeyitsHope’s channel— she uses this frequently and her skin is freakishly clear. But, I digress.
I really dig this toner. You can use in the AM or PM, as you so choose. According to Pixi’s website, 5% glycolic acid exfoliates and purifies the skin, aloe vera soothes and hydrates, and “Balances, heals, and soothes for radiant, healthier skin”. It’s also alcohol-free, which is always a good thing.
I noticed a SIGNIFICANT glow a few days into using it (NOTE: I’ve been using it AM and PM— got a slight pimple situation going on in the forehead… can’t tell if it’s from a new product or overuse, so you may not want to do that.) I usually have some glow during the day on the cheekbones, but dang!! It literally looked like I was wearing a cream highlight on the ‘bones. It was crazy. Fully extended onto the cheek— felt like I was ready for one of those Vogue videos that rich famous people do— and I don’t say that lightly.
So, Tone the f*ck up with Pixi! (pun fully intended)
